Second Wind Music
I wrote Laura's song for my wife and was going to play it for her on our 30th anniversary. But I crushed a car door into my hand and broke a finger a few weeks before the big day. Later, I got together with our kids and some friends from the 1991 House Band to record this version for her birthday.
About 30 years ago, I visited Nashville on a business trip. After visiting one of the great studios in that city, I decided I could write a country song. That weekend, I wrote "Get Out of My Life," a holiday break-up song. It's a crowd pleaser that has become my most popular song.
Summer of '69 is a classic song, and one that brings back great memories for me.
It was always fun playing at the Whistlestop Bar and Grill. Red Rubber Ball is a great tune from long ago.
I will never forget hearing a rep from Compassion International give a talk and mention that the average human took 30,000 breaths a day. Sadly, he added, 30,000 children die of hunger every day. Instantly, a chorus popped into my head. My younger son liked it and we created a song together... and a message I love to share. He and his brother recorded the song with their band, 22:21. Naturally, the song is called 30,000.
